Go Green - Save $$ and Help The Environment
Little did I know when my children and grandchildren were listening to Kermit the
Frog, on Sesame Street, sing "It's Not Easy Being Green," that I would be referencing it in an online newsletter. By the end of the song Kermit sings "It's beautiful! And it's what I want to be."
When you learn the benefits of going green, you too will say "And it's what I want to be."
We have so many resources to help us: websites, articles in magazines and newspapers, TV news features, movies, and product reviews. Advertisements heighten our awareness of new
environmentally-friendly products.
And it's catching on fast. Nearly 50% of Fortune 100 companies rely on eFax Corporate
and now get their faxes via email - no extra phone line. It is the paperless alternative to fax machines and servers.
An article in The Boston Globe on June 3rd entitled "Green cleaner cuts grease and costs" states that
the Boston's Colonnade Hotel saves $1,200.00 a month in chemical purchases by
going green.
Last year the recycling initiative in my community saved $250,000.00 in trash collection fees.
Going "green" has many benefits.
You can start by using recycled copy paper, recycled file folders, and other green office supplies available through your supplier.
Educating kids is one of the best ways to go green at home. Check out www.kidsforsavingearth.org.
It's easy to use recycling systems in your home. If you do something for 21 days it becomes a habit. Just think in less than a month it can be a habit for you, those you live with,
and the environment.
Father's Day, Sunday, June 15th
Recently I attended the National Association of Professional Organizers' Annual Conference and EXPO, in
Reno, NV. Some of the cutting edge organizing products that were exhibited would make terrific Father's Day gifts.
KangaRoom Storage makes unique storage and organizing systems to save busy professionals, and their families, time in their office or at home.
Homefile System simplifies organizing and maintaining your personal files. Buttoned Up has organizational systems for people who have hectic, time-compressed lives. Tote Trac, a practical and economical solution to clutter, simplifies ceiling storage.
